Koinobori - Rod rests

Below are some pictures of rod rests being made. I acquired banksticks with an interesting history as they belonged to a member of the Golden Scale Club and were made by the late Dave Austin. Unfortunately, the rod holders were missing. So here I am at work:

Real craftmanship! They look great! Dave used to make them of split cane. This is an interesting and very beautiful alternative. What kind of wood are you using?

Thanks for your kind words! You will have pictures of the final result, I promise! My banksticks made by Dave Austin are not made of split bamboo, as he used to do, but of whole and flamed bamboo. I will share photos with the letter of provenance.
My rest rods are made of beech.
